Japanese Village was Founded around AD. 1624 located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River. The land was granted to establish a community of houses in the vicinity. Originally this was just a small community. of the Japanese junk merchant. The head of the Japanese village at that time, Yamada Nagamasa, established a Japanese militia. and played a role in helping suppress rebellion as well as connecting trade relations between Thailand and Japan.
Currently, the Japanese Village has been established as the Japanese Village Museum as part of the Ayutthaya Historical Study Center. Established by the Thai-Japanese Association in collaboration with Thai academics and Japanese academics.
